The days are going by...

A smidge less than 3 weeks before I have.to.go.back.to.work...waaaaah!!!

Enjoying my days with the fam...not so much lately since we have a house of sickies right now...Joe is on day 5...ugh...and Cooper is day 3 and feeling better. Spencer is on day 1...he recovers quickly...but not quickly enough for our trip to San Diego! Waaaah!!! We were supposed to go today and my boys had tickets to Comic Con for Friday! Kendall and I were going to visit my old college roomie, Michelle. So, anyways..we're staying home now and mama ain't happy!

We did get over to the bay area on Monday to visit with another college roomie and a great friend, Kim!(pictures by Spencer!)
Kim is expecting baby #2, a boy! She has an adorable little girl, Amanda, who you swear is older than almost 3! She was a great helper with Kendall! And she loved playing with Sen-ser (Spencer!). After our visit and park time with them, we headed over to Nana and Grandpa's for a visit and a yummy dinner. Spencer picked some produce from their garden and asked Grandpa, "Why do you have so many breakables in your house?" Grandpa just laughed! Luckily, nothing was broken! Not sure where my photography skills were in this picture...not that I claim to be a great photographer, but come on, the lighting is all wrong...I might try it in black and white to see if it's better! Sorry, Nana and Grandpa!!!
So, now, just waiting for my men to get better so we can get out and enjoy summer again! And now we'll be able to go to Cooper's 2nd soccer game this weekend. Cooper enjoys it...as long as he doesn't bump into anyone!

Happy Wednesday!

Summer Fun

Whew, it's hot out there...we have been staying in lately...we did brave the heat for an early park playdate today at 9:30. Kids gotta be outside! Cindy and I took my kids and my brother-in-law's kids up to Pinecrest this week. Michelle and kids (minus Maddie) were camping up there for the week. We played at the lake and at their campsite for the day and enjoyed a quiet car ride home..all 5 kids were asleep before we even were on the road for 5 minutes!

Look what Coop can do!

Look what my little man can do...write his name! He's known how to spell his name for awhile now, but we just needed to pratice writing! He's so proud...he likes to "color in " his o's...I told him Mrs. Robbins won't like it (one of his teachers next year!). He shrugged...that's my Cooper.

He's so different from his big brother. He does things at his own pace, when he wants...stubborn, but sweet. Loves to cuddle. Loves to help! He is his Daddy's best helper! He is a hard worker...big bro, not so much! We love our Cooper!

In Spencer news, wanted to share this photo...doesn't he look like a blond Edward??? Hee-hee, Twilight fans will know what I'm talking about! that hair! Daddy cut the boys hair the other day, he did a good job! Is it really worth it to pay $30 for 2 little boys' haircuts??? No! Of course, we will still take them in for styling, but Daddy can do the in-between trims...and save money! More frugal living at it's best...

And of course, need to include the little miss...enjoying dinner in her booster...bye bye highchair! We're a BIG girl now! (still waiting for her hair to grow...hee-hee)

Monterey

Joe and I were able to go away for the night on our 9th anniversary to Monterey, one of our all time fav places! Thanks to our awesome mom, Cindy, for offering to watch the kids!

We had a great, relaxing time....cute little hotel near the wharf, clam chowder in the bread bowl, lots of mindless TV (VH1 anyone?), sleeping in, Carmel beach,We saw dolphins...I need to photoshop my photos so you can see them, but really they are there! fun together! We even slept in until 11:15...wow, can't remember when I slept in that long? 2002? Before kids? Didn't take many pictures (the car ride home is another story...see post below), but we did manage one together on the beach!

Love you, Joe! Happy 9 years! :-)

this is what happens when....

Sally's van!

...you're stuck in traffic on the Pacheco Pass. :-) You take out the camera and take pics!

9 years ago today...

My honey and I were looking forward to tomorrow, July 8, 2000. Our wedding day!!! What a great day! I was so nervous, but felt calm the day of our wedding. I knew we were a perfect match! Love you, Joe!
Been busy here, taking walks, playing, playdates, 4th of July parties, Bunco tonight (I was a big winner again! Lucky me!), and tomorrow Joe and I are headed to Monterey to celebrate and have a night without children...that will be weird!
Started "chore cards" with the boys each morning, and they are working out pretty well. They have to do the chores on the cards before we do anything else. But I always add something fun, like computer game, read with mom...if you'd like to check it out, click here (and then download the cards! Easy!)...non-readers can use them, too because they are pictures, too. Got from this awesome blog!! I am going to add some more that fit us...like pick up Legos...since they are always found all over the house and my boys love the small ones, perfect for Kendall to choke on, ha!
Anyway, happy July!

More SD pics

So this is not technically SD, but LA...we stopped by to visit my friend Charlotte and her new baby Tyler (born in Feb.) So happy to see her and him!

Aunt Jenny (doesn't she look like a model?)

K and Aunt Jenny, Kendall wasn't enjoying the beach as much this day!

Now we're home, trying to stay cool...man, it's hot here! I have a ton to do, but no energy to do it...oh well...it's summer...the boys are playing and eating ice cream and the little miss is napping...yesterday was our last T-ball game! We enjoyed our season, and we'll be out there next year when Cooper plays! He can't wait. He starts indoor soccer soon. Spencer is all signed up for soccer this fall with Daddy as the assistant coach, and Uncle Brian as coach. Jake, of course, is on the team with him.
Stay cool!!!!
